Based on the role entrusted to Civil Society Organizations in supporting human rights issues, yesterday morning, Tuesday, the 28th of September, Justice and Peace Organization for Human Rights met with Dr. Ahmed Abu Khzam, Minister of State for Displaced Affairs and Human Rights, and a number of issues were discussed. One of the important issues, and perhaps the most prominent, is the role in which Justice and Peace Organization can contribute to supporting the work of the Ministry by providing a helping hand to the displaced war victims.

In this regard, Justice and Peace Organization’s work team suggested signing a working partnership between the organization and the ministry, in which the organization contributes through its work team and in cooperation with local civil society institutions to support the ministry’s work.

It also discussed issues of grave human rights violations that occurred during the recent years and ways to address them through an integrated transitional justice program through which comprehensive national reconciliation is achieved.

Accordingly, it was decided that Justice and Peace Organization for Human Rights, in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Displaced Affairs and Human Rights, will hold a seminar during the next month to discuss this important issue.
